Brian Elliott shocks Lightning

Thank you Brian Elliott, 31 saves on 30 shots.

Brian Elliott went above and beyond last night as the St.Louis Blues stunned the Tampa Bay Lightning after being held scoreless for more than 55 minutes.  Thanks to Brian Elliott for keeping the team in the game so that they could even have the chance at tying the game in the last minutes. The acrobatic saves he made were pretty unbelievable, with back door slides and diving saves really kept you on your toes while watching.

After being out played for 40 minutes the Blues finally started to take the game over in the 3rd period, it took the team a while to figure out how to play without the likes of Kevin Shattenkirk, Patric Berglund, and Jori Lehtera who are out with injuries Goaltending was a key component of the Blues game last night and thank god for that brick wall last night in the home team net.

Although the Lightning out played the Blues they couldn't put more than one past Elliott. They basically doubled the amount of shots the Blues had, but thanks to the opportunist Vladimir Tarasenko it only takes one clear shot for him to put one past Ben Bishop. So that face off with 3 minutes and 10 seconds left that Paul Statsny wins, was the biggest moment of the game. Now the Blues have points in 12 straight games. Which is the tied with the Franchise record.

Over time was pretty quick, with a beautiful individual effort by Jaden Schwartz wins the game, and makes it 6 straight wins for the St.Louis Blues. 2 points behind those guys in Nashville for first in the Central division.

Here is the Beautiful Overtime winner by Schwartz.

Up next the Buffalo Sabres.

Tyler.
